Master Thesis: Development of novel confocal laser endomicroscopy technology to visualize cellular features in vivo

Within an AWS Proof of Concept project (18-month duration), we offer you the opportunity (with monthly salary of €1380 for 16 months) to work in an encouraging environment to bring a novel confocal laser endomicroscopy concept into reality together with a senior supervisor.

Confocal laser endomicroscopy is currently the only technique capable of visualizing cellular features with a high contrast in humans in vivo (that is, you see cells in intact human!), but the current state of this technology has multiple severe drawbacks. Our project intends to tackle these drawbacks to realize large-area cellular imaging.

Therefore, your thesis will cover the optomechanical design of a prototype confocal laser endomicroscopy system, development and validation of the necessary image reconstruction method, and testing of the imaging system in the lab. And you will not work alone!
