New Path Bio unlocks the potential of precision fermentation by engineering microbial strains to produce valuable food ingredients without animals, plants, sugar, starch, or most agricultural inputs. Through synthetic biology, we are redefining sustainable food production.

We are seeking a motivated, curious master’s student eager to deepen their expertise in cloning and molecular biology. In this project, you will work on improving heterologous protein production in yeast and contribute to the development of high-performance industrial production strains that enable more sustainable food systems.

The project will be funded by the FFG FEMtech initiative supporting female students in research, technology and innovation.

What you will learn:

● Cloning techniques and workflows

● Transformation of bacterial and yeast cells

● Generation of gene deletions overexpression in yeasts

● Screening methods, data analysis, interpretation and presentation

Requirements to apply:

● Female student enrolled in a Master program (e.g. Biotechnology)

● Good knowledge of aseptic techniques

● Basic experience in molecular biology

● Previous lab experience is desired

● Completed most of the curriculum

● Good record keeping and communication skills

● Attention to detail
