Out of the night into the day. This title describes a movement that overwrites the entire book. The reason is that this determines in two ways what the book should present. On the one hand, it means working on texts and referring to political struggles that want to think and live as the change of the world. On the other hand, the book itself is meant to allow some ideas and actions to emerge from the night into the day. In this sense, the book is a multi-voiced conversation with different authors, the listing of various injustices and not least the attempt to counter these injustices. What this book advocates in concrete terms is a democracy that works without leaders. A democracy without a strong man at the top. A democracy in which plurality is taken seriously and decisions are made together, even if this requires tensions, problems, discomfort, and a somewhat chaotic way of debating. In addition, there is a commitment to banish murder. To not, under any circumstances, consider it justifiable to murder other people because of their being different. Because as long as murder appears as a justified means to enforce something, as long as the life of every single person counts for nothing, there always remains the danger that we are all threatened by murder. Banishing murder can thus be a basis for standing up and fighting together for a different world. For a world in which we could achieve that trust into the world could return. This is the third idea that should emerge from the night. The idea that lost trust in the world, lost trust that one`s own life is a value to be defended through others, can be reinvigorated. This can happen through certain practices that collectively and consistently challenge existing injustices. One can mention the fight back against the oppressors, the wounding of that which degrades, the overwhelming by pointing out the injustice, the body check against heteronormativity. At the same time, the text does not neglect that the exercise of these practices requires long preparation, practice, and perseverance. The text refers to the struggles of those who have gone before. It recalls those who have left us their practices and a changed world, even if it is not free of injustice. The book recalls the struggles of the LGBTQIA*, the feminist, the Jewish, and diverse BIPoC communities and their successes. Werent they strong and graceful? The last person to appear in this book is the author themself. They appears, so that the burden of proving that a plural society can be lived is not only on others but must also be dared by themself. Thus, an author who lives queer, who lives drag, appears at the beginning of a new morning to write for a plural society.
