Just a few days after the announcement of Giulio Superti-Furga becoming the Founding Scientific Director of the Cori Institute of Molecular and Computational Metabolism of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the institute is looking for an outstanding Administrative Director and Co-CEO. This is not simply an administrative position. It is a founding partnership. The Cori has been launched as a bold new initiative in Graz, closely connected with the University of Graz, the Medical University of Graz and Graz University of Technology. In September 2026, it will be founded as a GmbH. Our ambition is to build an international research institute of up to 150 scientists, dedicated to decoding, modelling and engineering human metabolism and its interaction with the environment. Giulio Superti-Furga is looking for a partner who understands that administration in science is not bureaucracy, but enablement. Someone who can build the financial, legal, operational, HR and organisational foundations of a new institute with integrity, ambition and effectiveness. Someone who can find compliant ways to make bold things possible. Someone who cares deeply about people, international recruitment, onboarding, mentoring and the daily conditions that allow talent to flourish. The Administrative Director and Giulio Superti-Furga will jointly lead The Cori under a dual leadership model, reporting to the Presiding Committee of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. The right person will help shape not only an institute, but a culture: excellent, international, service-oriented, humane and courageous.

Applications are open until 15 June 2026.

Preferred starting date: September 2026.

Potential hearing date: 3 July 2026.
