The present manuscript treats all the drawings by the italian artist Parmigianino (1503 - 1540), which are analyzed
in an continuous text and in a chronological order. The text follows the four stages of the artistic career of
Parmigianino which are the first period in Parma (ca. 1519 - 1524), the sojourn in Rome (1524 - 1527), the
Bolognese period (1527 - 1530) and the late years in Parma (1530 - 1540). At the beginning of the text is analyzed
the significance and profile of the artist as a draughtsman and the materials and methods which he used. It is also
examined by which artist he was trained at the beginning of his career and in what way he can be distinguished
from other artists. The main part of the text investigates the drawings in the context to the paintings of the artist. A
stylistic desciption an iconografical analysis of the painting preceeds in general the discussion of the group of
preparatory drawings which belongs to the painting. Furthermore is acutely descibed the stylistic development of
the artist throughout his whole career. A separate chapter treats the group of etchings from the artist and the
collaboration with the masters, who reproduced his preparatory drawings in etchings, engravings or chiaroscuro
woodcuts. The finacel chapter treats briefly the history of the famous collections of Parmigianinos drawings.
