Abstract
The project "Light management for organic solar cells" deals with new concepts for the design of solar cells to
improve the absorption of light by micro-structuring. The structures used for silicon cells cannot be transferred
directly since they rely on the high refractive index of silicon. Increased absorption leads to higher efficiencies,
ideally with the same low production costs as for the current cells. First, optical simulations will be performed, to
identify structures which promise an increased absorption. Then, these cells are to be produced experimentally and
tested optically and electrically.
