Changing Perception an the Aesthetics of Modern Literature

In the planned studies about the aesthetics of Modern literature the main interest is concentrated on the perceptional and cognitional implications of Modern Aesthetics. Against the background of the culture-scientific discussions around the concept of an aisthesis materialis` - this working term` is a special indication to the original meaning of Aesthetics as a theory of sensory perception and cognition, it describes, however, also the liberation of aesthetic reflection from the limits of the philosophical dispute and its expansion to a cultural science - the interconnection of ever changing perception and aesthetic developments in Modern literature is going to be proven based on the material` (selected texts of the Viennese and Central European, German language, Modern literature). The project has to be seen as a literary but also trans-disciplinary research project questioning the always changing perception against the background of philosophy-related and epistemological aspects on the one hand and that of psychological, socio-historic and art aspects on the other, so that the project can be regarded as a contribution to the clarification and systematisation of the aesthetic phenomenology of Modern literature.
