Abstract
Many multi-phase flow applications in industrial processes like design and monitoring of bubble column reactors
or in oil-well industry require the accurate measurement of void fractions and velocities. A cheap and robust
method to obtain process relevant quantities is Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT).
Since ECT is sensitive to bulk information while knowing to respond insensitive to interfaces, ECT is augmented
with information obtained with ultrasound, which is sensitive to interfaces. Additionally in this project we focus on
3D reconstruction, since it is well known that the accuracy, which is necessary for industrial processes, cannot be
achieved with a 2D approximation of the problem.
