Abstract
Carbon fibre reinforced Copper materials (MMC`s) shall be prepared in a laboratory equipment (Hot Press),
whereby windings of Cu-coated tows shall be compacted. For comparison also MMC`s consisting of randomly
oriented short fibres and Cu-powder shall be prepared. Measurements shall give the dependence of resulting
properties on the production parameters. Most important data will be the thermal expansion behavior, the thermal
conductivity and the residual stresses, as well as creep and fatigue properties. The scientific data and the evaluation
of possible performing resp. failure of such composites shall give information about practical usability of the
material.
