Encyclopaedia Slovenian Language and Literature in Carinthia

The "Encyclopaedia of the Slovenian Language and Literature in Carinthia", as applied for, is designed as a scientific reference book. It represents on one hand a synopsis of the presently available knowledge and its critical evaluation as well as, through the introduction of genuine research in relevant segments, the compilation of the scientific achievements on a high level. Such a synthesis is also innovative from the methodological point of view as it gives evidence of the specific historical and social conditions of the development of the codification of the language and the oral tradition, including in its written form, on several levels. The "Encyclopaedia of the Slovenian Language and Literature in Carinthia" applies new - respectively in specific areas of research non-established - research methods and provides a broader theoretical basis for the scientific discourse on the Slovenian language and literature in Carinthia. In addition, the Encyclopedia places at disposal a complete scientific apparatus with information on books and archives as well as on the work of the relevant scientific institutions. This allows a fast orientation on the place and the level of scientific use of sources which facilitates continuing in deep scientific research.
