Capture Probability Of Neutrinos By 205T
The project LOREX is the acronym of LORandite EXperiment, which addresses the long-time detection of solar neutrinos with the 205 Tl-bearing mineral lorandite (TlAsS 2 ) at the mine of Allchar, Macedonia, via the neutrino- capture reaction 205 Tl + ve 205 Pb + e - . LOREX is the only long-time geochemical solar neutrino experiment still actively pursued. If accomplished, it will contribute to the understanding of the standard solar model by measuring the solar pp-neutrino flux above an unprecedented low threshold for the neutrino energy of Eve = 52 keV. Moreover, LOREX would be a unique experiment while providing the mean luminosity of the sun over the last 4 million years. This project, proposed in the framework of LOREX, aims at providing within two years stringent reasons for whether or not the final accomplishment of LOREX would be feasible.
