Abstract
Final report
The interface "The canonized text and historical every day texts from the world of the recipients of Hebrews"
enables a more accurate insight into various possible interpretations of the text by its recipients. For this, it is
necessary to revise and prove the reference value of the relevant papyri and ostraca. This will be accomplished
with respective papyrological instruments like data bank PHI#7 and SNS for Greek and Latin.
The use of the cultic language as basis for the argumentation, is a typical feature of Hebrews. Because of this, a
major part of the introduction is dedicated to this problem.
Therefore, the goal of this project is to write a papyrological commentary on Hebrews. An important part is the
introduction which takes a position concerning the topic of cultic terminology in the documentary papyri and
ostraca with regard to Hebrews. Two papyrological commentaries on the New Testament, "Philemon" and "1.
Korintherbrief", have already been published in the series "Papyrologische Kommentare zum Neuen Testament".
