Within the scope of this project three works of F.W.J. Schelling are edited, which are written between 1802 and 1804. The project makes a contribution to the still outstanding interpretation of Schelling`s "identity philosophy" by providing a reliable textual basis. Editorial introductions disclose the little- known formative contexts of the three texts and their sometimes extensive history of reception, explanatory comments throw light upon the references and the contexts of debates of the texts. One important aspect of the project is to edit a currently discussed systematic scheme of university studies by editing the Vorlesungen über die Methoden des akademischen Studiums. The projekt, moreover, makes transparent the philosophy of religion that Schelling developed between 1802 and 1804. As a result this philosophy of religion can be opened up for the adequate appreciation in the history of theology and philosophy.
