FWF workshop with three Clusters of Excellence and CERN Director-General Mark Thomson

This will be the FWF’s second workshop at the Technology Talks Austria. The workshop, titled “The Quest for Scientific Breakthroughs: Current Developments and Key Insights,” will focus on the groundbreaking research of today and tomorrow. Researchers from the FWF Clusters of Excellence Bilateral Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Science Austria, and MetAGE will provide insights into promising results from their Clusters. After their contribution, participants will be joined by Mark Thomson, Director-General of CERN, to discuss the framework conditions needed for tomorrow's cutting-edge research.

In addition to providing insights into research on artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and aging and health research, the workshop will also look at the prerequisites for scientific excellence: What research conditions foster groundbreaking discoveries? What role do large research networks such as the Austrian Clusters of Excellence or CERN play? And how can Europe further strengthen its research capabilities? Following the speakers’ keynote presentations, the audience is invited to actively join in the discussion.
