Making sense of health information can be challenging, and many people are unsure which sources they can trust. The CONNECT project aims to address this problem. In CONNECT, we work closely with citizens to understand what they value in health information and combine these insights with scientific quality standards. Together, we develop guiding principles that help people identify trustworthy health information and better understand its relevance for informed health decisions. Citizens take an active role in the project. They help collect and interpret data and work together with us to create the guiding principles in a final workshop. This way, the results are both practical for everyday life and scientifically sound. By working closely with citizens, CONNECT explores new and more effective ways to communicate health information. In the long term, we aim to establish a permanent Citizen Scientist advisory group that helps guide our future research and the sharing of results.
