Abstract
From 1989 to 2002, extensive epigraphical surveys, financed by the Austrian Academy of the Sciences, were
annually carried out through a team under the direction of Bülent IPLIKCIOGLU in the Pisidian Termessos and its
territory, whereby by field research the area became to open striven so, that therewith the systematic exploration of
the Termessian inscriptions, finally performed by Rudolf HEBERDEY and published in the volume Tituli Asiae
Minoris III,1 in 1941, was concluded, so that moreover each attempt to find still further texts is either to be owed
chance findings or can promise success only in excavations. As fruits of these enterprises, the three VKK-volumes
"Epigraphische Forschungen in Termessos und seinem Territorium I-III" were published in the "Sitzungsberichte"
in the years 1991 to 1994, in which altogether 76 new texts were presented. The present book continues these three
volumes and comprises the results of the research activity of the years 1992 to 2002 both in the ruin field of
Termessos and in the area of its chora. The work offers the epigraphical analysis of 219 inscriptions composed in
Greek language (religious texts, honorary inscriptions, agonistic inscriptions, grave inscriptions, building
inscriptions, milestones, boundary inscriptions), which provide an essential knowledge increase for topography,
administration, onomastics and history of religion.
