The main aim of my one year stay at the Institute of Palaeontology (University of Vienna) will be the application
of a new method which I have developed during my studies of Bryozoa from the Western Carpathians (Slovakia
and Hungary) during the years 1995-1997. This method offers the possibility to isolate in many cases microfossils
from hard rocks. I have made already some preliminary tests with Austrian samples which looked very promising
in number of cases. Our main field of interest in the course of these studies will be Bryozoa from the Austrian
Paleogene, nevertheless also samples from the Austrian Miocene will be included at least for sake of comparison. It
can be expected that the application of my method will yield a number of important contributions to the knowledge
of Austrian Paleogene and Neogene microfaunas.
