Research project P 14417 Historical-Etymological Dictionary of Turkisch Andreas TIETZE 09.10.2000 Historical and etymological dictionary of Ottoman and Turkish of Turkey during the three-year period 1996-199. 1. The manuscript of vol. I (letters A-E) has been completed and is presently being proof-read for publication. 2. Some 400 explanatory paragraphs have been prepared to be interspersed in the text. 3. A comprehensive bibliography to be added to vol. I is already camera-ready. 4. The text for vol. II (comprising the words starting with the letters F-J) has been written. 5. During the last three months of this period writing of the manuscript for volume III which presumably will consist only of the words starting with K has been started and 140 pages have been completed. II. work plan for the next 3-years period. 1. proofreading for the mechanical production of vol. I will be completed by spring 2000. 2. Work on the text of vol. II can be estimated to be completed by the end of the year 2000, so that the printing of vol. II can follow vol. I without delay in 2001. 3. We hope to be able with the preparation of vol. III by the end of 2001, so that this vol. can also follow the preceding volume without delay in 2002.
