We discover novel drugs for a wide variety of diseases; investigate the molecular binding mechanisms of novel molecules to these membrane proteins and analyze toxic effects. ChanPharm is a successful contract research organization (CRO). Over the last years we contributed to the development of novel drugs that are currently in clinical studies.

As a member of the Vienna BioCenter we are partners of joint scientific projects with research groups at IMBA and global high-tech companies.

We are currently expanding our platform for toxicological and drug discovery studies on stem cell-derived neuronal and cardiac cell models.

About the position

• Assist in daily laboratory organization (e.g. preparing buffers and media, maintaining supplies, taking care of the equipment, curating databases)
• Generate and maintain a library genetically modified cell lines (cell culture set up, incl. cell line database and cell lines storage)
• Maintain stem cell-derived cardiac and neuronal cells
• Perform standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
• Perform flux measurements through ion channels with automated planar patch clamp systems such as SyncroPatch and Patchliner (Nanion Technologies)
• Perform flux measurements through ion channels with a FlexStation (Molecular Devices)

The candidate must have

• Basic knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry (acquired either via relevant BSc/MSc degree, training as MTA, CTA or BTA and/or via relevant experience)
• Practical experience in basic molecular biology techniques (e.g. cloning, DNA/RNA purification, PCR, transfection of mammalian cell lines etc.)
• Experience in cell culture (including stem cell derived cell models) would be optimal
• Command of English (English is Lab language)

We offer

• A sallary based on the "Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte im Gewerbe und Handwerk und in der Dienstleistung" for a full-time position (Verwendungsgruppe III, first year) amounting to 14x € 2.528,04 gross (Brutto).
