Neidhart-Edition: Pergament-Handschriften

Project goal has been to produce a first and complete edition of all texts and melodies which have been preserved under the name "Neidhart" or within a so-called "Neidhart Context." According to text history and reception, Neidhart has been the most successful and influential of all medeival song writers in German language tradition. (13 century) Project result will be a two-partite edition in three folio volumes. The edition will reflect all the different text variants. Those will be edited according to a method combining parallel printing with the principle of following a lead manuscript. The three volumes of the edition are organized as follows: I/Vol. 1. Texts and melodies of the vellum manuscripts, I/Vol. 2. Texts and melodies of the paper manuscripts, II/Vol. 3. Information on text history and notes and explanations.
