Ladinian Linguistic Atlas, 2nd part

This project request concerns three further years (2001-2003) in the process of completing the second part (ALD II) of the project "Ladinienatlas - Atlas of Ladinia" (ALD), its objective being to realize about 100 (out of 217) interviews with the help of the questionnaire worked out in the preceding project phase (FWF 13349-SPR). These interwies will be carried out by practical fieldwork, in the sequel, the results will be computerized and prepared for further computer processing. We therefore need philologically trained linguists as well as technically experienced assistents. In order to guarantee a smooth and harmonious realization of the tasks, at least two full-time assistents (one postdoc and one graduated) for linguistic and philological matters, one full-time assistant (graduated) with philological and technical competences, as well as external computer-trained collaborators with philological and linguistic competence (with free-lance contracts) are requested. In addition, the indispensable expenses for travels and residence during field research work must be covered. Further expenses are not applicable, as they are to be covered by funds external to the FWF. The methodological parameters of exploration of ALD II are to a large extent similar to those of ALD I, except for the new topics to be recorded (lexicon and morphosyntax). ALD I was published in seven volumes (including a CD-ROM) by Verlag Dr. L. Reichert in Wiesbaden in 1998.
