Abstract
Transcript is one of the leading scientific publishers in the German-speaking world with a
high level of awareness in the Educational studies and Pedagogy. The decision in favor of
Transcript is based not only on the high quality of its publishing activities, but also on the
disciplinary approach and the topic of my dissertation. Its main focus is on counselling
research in the field of adult education. The study analyses a newly emerging field of
counselling, which has so far hardly been researched from a counselling-theoretical
perspective. At the same time, the interdisciplinary research approach put this work in direct
dialogue with related disciplines such as sociology, social work and migration research.
Hence, my dissertation can be optimally located in the publishing program, which focuses on
innovative developments and also includes numerous publications from different disciplines
on the topic of migration. With the "ZfK - Zeitschrift für Kulturwissenschaften", Transcript
also offers a medium for current discussions on the concept of culture.
One focus of Transcript is in the social sciences including the field of pedagogy. The
publication of my dissertation is planned in this program area in the series with the same
title. Here, publications from the fields of adult education in Austria and Germany as well as
migration research relevant for my dissertation have already been published. It is worth
noting that Ilka Sommer`s publication about the fight for the recognition of foreign
professional qualifications in Germany was published in the Transcript series "Society of
Differences", prominently featured in the current debate on the recognition of qualifications
acquired abroad. As a result, the publication of my dissertation offers opportunities to enrich
current research debates in this area.
Transcript has a widespread international network and many years of experience in
marketing and sales and aims to address not only academic readers but also a socially-
curious public. In my experience Transcript hat proven itself better than other publishers in
terms of communication and cooperation and fulfils all the necessary conditions for funding
at the FWF.
