Abstract
In biology classes, different perspectives sometimes clash, especially when it comes to
sexuality. The CuSSeed project (Culturally Sensitive Sex education the Muslim perspectives)
aims to explore the views of Muslims on sex education in schools. Through interviews with
Muslims in Austria we want to find out what challenges they perceive in relation to this topic
and what attitudes (based on what reasons) they have regarding the content taught in
schools and the methods used to teach it. We also want to find out whether, and if so, what
solutions are possible to ensure that biology lessons in schools meet both state educational
goals and cultural needs.
