Karl Landsteiner University is embedded in a highly successful teaching and research environment at the Krems Campus as well as within the University Hospital Network of St. Pölten, Krems, and Tulln. Through close collaboration with partner institutions in Wiener Neustadt and other strategic partners in science and research, KL pursues targeted profile development in defined areas of biomedical and biopsychosocial sciences.

The Department of “Immunology and Allergology” conducts interdisciplinary translational research with the aim of improving the lives of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases. The scientific focus is on the analysis of autoimmune and allergen-specific immune responses, as well as clinical and psychosocial aspects in patients with chronic inflammatory diseases.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and conduct of laboratory experiments using immunological/molecular methods and cell/organ cultures (FACS, ELISA, PCR, DNA cloning and recombinant gene expression, SDS-PAGE, WB, etc.)
  • Analysis of data and preparation of research reports and scientific publications
  • Laboratory management
  • Presentation of results at scientific conferences
  • Assistance with the preparation and submission of applications for third-party funding
  • Teaching on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Medicine

YOUR PROFILE

  • A completed diploma or master’s degree; a completed PhD in the natural sciences
  • Experience with immunological methods
  • Willingness to establish new methods and supervise students
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • A reliable and independent approach to work
  • A friendly, open manner and the ability to work as part of a team
